I love piano music, particularly "freewheeling" jazz by our own Sean, Derek Paravicini (blind, with autism) and my all-time favorite, John Thulin (used to be on Whad' Ya Know radio show). I often listen to their recordings on my Ipod with noise cancelling earphones as I quilt on the noisy longarm machine. It inspires me and makes me think such thoughts as, you should never have given up the piano, maybe I can buy a keyboard and try again, there's a new music store in town––I should sign up for lessons, but then realize that it's not in me to be a pianist despite lots of effort from my piano teacher grandmother. But yesterday as I was soaring along with the music and the machine under my control it came to me that God gave me a different way of freewheeling, with quilting.
Thank you God for our many and varied gifts. Here's mine.
